Language awareness in the teaching and learning of maths and science

CLIL – “Content and Language Integrated Learning” implies the concurrent learning of the principles and concepts of a subject together with the pertinent language. Language based activities are not a waste of time in maths and science education, if students are meant to achieve competence instead of mere knowledge.
